Instructions
- Use this technique to divide youth into small groups for an activity.
- Prepare slips of paper, each with the name of a noisy animal written on it.
- Create as many duplicate animal slips as you want people in each group. For example, if you need groups of four and you have 20 youth, you'll need:
- Four elephants
- Four tigers
- Four dogs
- Four mice
- Four snakes
- Give each participant a slip of prepared paper.
- Tell youth to keep their assigned animal a secret.
- Explain when you say, "Go!" youth should make their assigned animal's noise while looking for the other animals who are the same as them.
- Allow youth to continue making noises and looking for their group mates until all of the groups are formed.
- Jump in to assist as needed.
