- Gather everyone into a circle.
- Tell youth they will be playing a silent game called Circle Dash.
- Select a volunteer to stand in the middle of the circle.
- Explain the object of the game and the rules:
- Two people from the circle will try to silently signal each other and then quickly switch places with each other in the circle.
- As they switch places, the person in the middle of the circle will try to fill the open spot in the circle before the switchers do. Whoever is left without a space in the circle is left in the middle.
- Ask if anyone has any questions about the rules before they begin.
- Exclaim, “Ready? Go!”
- Give players a specified amount of time to play the game.
- Signal when there is just one minute left.
- Congratulate everyone for thinking on their feet, and direct youth to take a seat.
- Ask youth a few questions to reflect on their time together:
- What did you enjoy about this activity?
- Would you enjoy playing this game again in the future? Why? Why not?
- If you could make changes to this game, what would you change?
- Thank everyone for their participation.
