Instructions
- Use a grouper to divide youth into pairs.
- Tell youth they will work with their partners to list as many words as they can starting with a certain letter.
- Distribute a piece of paper and a pen or pencil to each pair.
- Ask if anyone has any questions before we begin.
- For each round, announce a letter and a time frame.
- For example: Say, "You have 45 seconds to write down as many words as you can think of that begins with the letter B."
- Use a shorter time frame for younger players.
- Play a few rounds.
- Tell youth to count how many words they were able to form for each letter.
- Ask who thinks they got the most words for each letter, as you call out each letter, one at a time.
- Allow for a few responses per letter.
- Congratulate everyone for working so well together.
