Instructions
- Use a grouper to divide participants into pairs.
- Say, "Today we will play a game called Rise Up! You'll work together to stand up. Literally.
- Ask, "Does that sound easy enough?"
- Say, "Then let's get started! Sit back-to-back with your partner. Link your arms."
- Observe partners to make sure they are in the correct position.
- Say, "Well done! Now stand up!"
- Ask, "Do you think this will get easier or harder if we add another person?"
- Instruct every other team to separate and join an existing pair to make a trio.
- Tell trios to sit down and link arms, and then to stand up.
- To make the exercise more difficult, keep increasing the group size, or add a blindfold to the mix.
- Congratulate everyone for working so well together.
- Ask participants:
- How well do you feel you worked as a team? What could you improve?
- Did you support each other during the challenge?
- Was it more difficult when more people were added? Why? Why not?
